We provide ride-hailing drivers with financing for electric vehicles, from affordable MGs to luxury Mercedes and Teslas. We are also an EV retailer to this market, with a showroom in West London, and provide servicing charge cards, insurance etc. We are a fast growth business, with c. 2,500 electric cars in our fleet and plans to ramp this up. We were one of the Sunday Times Growth 100 fastest growth UK businesses last year. We are a close-knit team of just over 50 dedicated to reducing emissions through the adoption of EVs. The Finance Team
The finance team comprises a small UK team who are finance business partners supporting the business. The team works closely with other functions within the Company; Sales, Operations, Credit and Collections. There is an off-shore partner who provides financial and administrative support to the UK team. This role has two direct line reports who are based in the UK.
Job Overview
The Finance Business Partner role will be a pivotal role for the Finance team in a fast-growing business with constantly evolving internal processes. The role will report to the Financial Controller and will develop key relationships with the finance and non-finance teams. The role will provide insightful management information and analysis to the business to ensure timely and effective commercial decision making.
The ideal candidate would have significant experience in a SME environment and will adopt a detailed approach and have the ability to support any member of the team during busy periods or absences due to holidays. The candidate will always adopt a systems and process-based approach, looking at ways to improve processes as we seek to automate as many of our repeatable processes as we can within the finance team.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
1. Reporting & Control
• Prepare and review the monthly management accounts
• Responsible for a team based offshore
• Provide meaningful information and analysis as required and work collaboratively with the wider non-finance teams including Operations, Sales and Collections teams
• Present meaningful insights and analysis at regular (monthly) performance reviews with the wider team - including variance analysis (vs Budget), trends and clear commentary
• Ownership of relevant accounts including balance sheet reconciliations as required
• Ownership, implementation and advice on accounting policies. Review of the company's accounting policies are in line with IFRS
2. Statutory Accounts
• Prepare the Statutory Accounts and year end schedules for the statutory accounts. Liaise with the external auditors, act as the key point of contact to complete the audit
• Corporate tax initial information preparation for the external advisors
3. Compliance Reporting
• Monthly preparation and submission of VAT returns for all group companies
• Credit Reporting
4. Accounts Payable
• Managing key relationships with payment vendors/partners
5. Projects
• Work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure consistent information is being used for budgeting
• Assist and support the Financial Controller as required on the roll out of financial projects, including implementation of new systems and best practice
• Evolve financial controls processes and develop best practice with the wider team
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have/be:
Knowledge and skills
• Qualified accountant working in a high growth SME (CIMA/ACCA qualified)
• 5+ years of experience in a Management Accountant role
• Experience managing one or more team members
• Strong Excel modelling skills/advanced Excel skills
• Capable of identifying problems with the passion and ability to resolve
• Capable of providing challenge to the numbers to drive decision making and performance
• Strong analytical and communication skills especially with non-finance teams
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet strict deadlines in a fast-moving environment
• Experience of Xero
• Experience of Netsuite (advantageous)
• Knowledge of Power BI (advantageous)

• Base Salary £62K-£66K annually depending on experience
