Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) Installation & Maintenance Technician to join our team in the Hampshire area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of air source heat pump systems in residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with heat pump systems, knowledge of industry standards, and a commitment to providing high-quality service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation:
o Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine the suitability of air source heat pumps for residential or commercial installations.
o Install ASHP systems, including the heat pump unit, pipework, electrical connections, and control systems.
o Ensure all installations meet safety and regulatory standards, including building codes and energy efficiency guidelines.
o Work with other trades (e.g., electricians, plumbers) as necessary to complete installations.
o Test and commission systems upon installation to ensure optimal performance.
2. Maintenance & Servicing:
o Carry out regular servicing and maintenance of ASHP systems to ensure continued performance and efficiency.
o Perform fault diagnosis and repairs on malfunctioning or inefficient systems.
o Clean and maintain filters, check refrigerant levels, and inspect the system’s overall functionality.
o Provide customers with advice on system care, energy-saving tips, and recommendations for improving system performance.
3. Customer Service:
o Communicate with customers to explain the operation of their systems, answer questions, and provide solutions to any issues.
o Offer advice on energy-saving measures, as well as upgrade or replacement options.
o Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
4. Compliance & Documentation:
o Adhere to all relevant UK standards and regulations, including MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) and RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) requirements.
o Maintain accurate records of installations, services, repairs, and system performance.
o Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
5. Continuous Professional Development:
o Keep up to date with developments in heat pump technology, renewable energy solutions, and industry best practices.
o Participate in training sessions and certifications to maintain qualifications and expand technical knowledge.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:
• Relevant qualifications: NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating & Ventilation, or equivalent qualifications related to air source heat pumps (e.g., F-Gas Certification, MCS accredited).
• Technical skills: Strong knowledge of ASHP systems, including their design, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Regulatory knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards, including MCS, RHI, and relevant building codes.
• Health & Safety knowledge: Awareness of health and safety regulations related to working with electrical and refrigeration systems.
• Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
• Driving Licence: A full, valid UK driving licence, as travel across Hampshire may be required.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills:
• Additional Certifications: HETAS certification or other renewable energy-related qualifications.
• Experience with smart controls: Knowledge of smart thermostats and integration with ASHP systems.
• Customer service: Strong customer service background, particularly in the energy efficiency or renewable sector.

Working Hours:
• Standard working hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (with occasional weekend work as required)
