SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Newton Aycliffe
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Mon-Thur & Friday: Early Finish
Start Date: Once compliance cleared
Duration: Temporary long term with potential for permanent opportunities
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and high-quality Learning Support Assistants to join a dedicated team supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
About the Role:
This role involves supporting pupils with SEMH and SEND needs, both one-to-one and in group settings, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
1. Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
2. Have experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs
3. Be resilient, patient, and adaptable to meet the needs of students
4. Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
5. Work collaboratively within a team and independently when required
6. Have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
7. Show a commitment to student success and the wider school community
8. Possess good English and Mathematics skills
9. Team Teach training is desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
