Vehicle Technician – Dash Fleet Services
Dash Fleet Services is a brand-new venture currently being set up within The Dash Group, created to service and maintain our own expanding rental fleet of vehicles. This is a very exciting opportunity for a skilled Vehicle Technician to be part of the business from day one, playing a key role in getting our workshop up and running. While we will initially focus on supporting our internal fleet, we have ambitious plans to offer services to external fleet customers as the business grows. We're looking for someone hands-on, motivated, and ready to help build something from the ground up. With rapid growth expected, this role offers genuine potential for progression as Dash Fleet Services develops into a leading name in fleet servicing.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Play a key role in the setup of our new fleet services division
• Maintaining, servicing, and repairs of our vehicle rental fleet and external fleet customer vehicles
• Interpret repair instructions accurately to achieve first time repair in line with customer requirements
• Carry out routine servicing and repairs to brakes, suspension, exhaust, tyres, clutch and timing belts
• Preparing and taking vehicles for MOT
• Carrying out diagnostics and electrical testing on vehicles
• Diagnose engine and transmission problems
• Identify issues that can be rectified under manufacturer’s warranty
• PDI Dash Van Sales stock LCVs for retail sale
• Warranty works for Dash Van Sales LCVs
• Undertake a vehicle health check on all retail and warranty jobs, maximise sales opportunities when extra work is required
• Communicating with colleagues and customers as and when required
• Maintain accurate records of work performed on each vehicle via workshop app on tablet
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment
• To ensure all equipment and machinery is regularly checked and kept up to a satisfactory standard.
• Road test vehicles and diagnose problems as and when necessary
Personal Specification
• Qualified to NVQ or City and Guilds level 3 or equivalent
• Demonstrable experience running or working in a commercial fleet services business
• Good problem-solving skills in diagnosing mechanical issues
• Have a full driving licence
• Good customer service skills

Hours of Work: This is a full-time role which may involve some weekend work
Salary: £36,000 - £40,000
Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks per year (including Bank Holidays). Holiday benefit – For every continuous year you’re with us, you’ll receive an extra day of holiday, up to a maximum of five.
