Description Summary and purpose of position: Wincanton is a leading British supply chain solutions company. The Group provides business critical services including storage, handling and distribution; high volume eFulfilment; retailer 'dark stores'; two-person home delivery; fleet and transport management; and network optimisation for many of the UK's best known companies. With almost 100 years' heritage, Wincanton's 19,600-strong team operates from more than 200 sites across the country, utilising 3,500 vehicles. Duties and responsibilities: Assist in the daily running of the Transport operation by completing all administrative and legislative tasks required to maintain performance of the operation. To liaise with other departments to ensure all delayed departures and/or deliveries are clearly communicated to the relevant area. Ensure Operational security requirements are adhered to e.g. vehicle keys, phones, fuel cards, Collation and input of statistical information for various reports. Engage directly with customers to provide updates in relation to their delivery, to resolve queries or provide pre-delivery information as required. Management of tachograph records. Promote good driver good driver behaviors utilising tools including Mix telematics Assist with conducting Investigations within a timely manner. Assist with the management of vehicle defects through the VOR process. Actively be involved in the recruitment, training and coaching of all colleagues. Management of the sickness absence process, including accurate record keeping and RTW interviews. Support the site with any adhoc administrative tasks that are required To work Monday -Friday with a rotating early/late shift, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays with a requirement to work additional hours/shifts as necessary Person specification Experience, skills and attributes: Attention to detail is key for this role as is the accuracy of information supplied Experience within a transport/busy operational environment is desirable Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels Well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks as required Excellent communicator at all levels. Understanding of drivers working time directive and EU regulations.
