Programme Manager, International Development Charity, Cambridgeshire
Wonderful opportunity exists at this Cambridgeshire based International Development charity for a competent and experienced Programme Manager to join their established team to take responsibility for ensuring alignment and close working with the charity’s Country offices and partner organisations to ensure quality planning and delivery of programmes for the organisation. For approximately 75% of your time you will manage a portfolio of institutional-funded programmes in line with the charity’s Programme Quality Framework, structures and systems and ensuring effective coordination of local implementing partners. You will also develop and maintain excellent working relations with internal staff and programme stakeholders including partner organisations, consortia members, other associated organisations, and line government agencies in programme countries. Working with internal and external partners, you will help to develop innovative new approaches, programmes and multi-year plans in line with the charity’s policies whilst supporting partners and staff to develop and report on monitoring, evaluation, impact and learning frameworks and integrate learning into future work. The rest of the role will be taken up with statutory and institutional fundraising and relationship management, as well as representing the organisation to wider audiences including, media, policy and decision makers, national government and other groups when required.
As a professional you can demonstrate significant people management experience, designing, developing and implementing international development programmes, proven experience of financial management and experience of participatory monitoring, evaluation and impact assessment. The nature of the role requires the need for international travel for up to 8 -10 weeks per year. It is essential that the successful candidate is sympathetic with the Christian values of love and support that the organisation is founded upon, though there is no GOR under the Equality Act 2010 for the postholder to be a practising Christian.
