Job Summary:
To ensure that the Estate Control Centre operates effectively 24/7 through the maintenance or implementation of technical systems, competent people and appropriate procedures. Creating operational consistency across multiple shifts and ensuring quality assurance across all outputs of the team, allowing the highest standards to be achieved and the necessary support afforded to the wider security team. Also responsible for ensuring the Business Recovery Site functions and has the applicable mechanisms in place to run at short notice, or in a routine fashion.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Manage projects or routine checks relating to the functionality of the ECC and the Business Recovery Site from an operational and technical perspective.
2. Be a primary driver for technical and operational upgrades to ensure the ECC remains a critical asset to the department as well as the wider estate.
3. Act as a Facilities Manager and ensure any of the physical faults or issues that are identified with the infrastructure of the building are acted on and reported accordingly.
4. Liaise closely with Senior Security Operational Management and the Security Technology team on implementation of software/hardware.
5. Ensure and report back on levels of compliance with all aspects of data protection, retention, and GDPR as and when required.
6. Be a point of contact for ECC matters and provide advice and guidance when necessary.
7. Provide and oversee an administrative function relating to the ECC’s accuracy and functionality.
8. Oversee and check on quality assurance of the ECC at departmental level.
9. Identify lessons learned or amendments required to general working practice as necessary within the ECC.
10. Maintain statistics for departmental analysis and ensure they are readily available for those that need them.
11. Create, maintain, and implement ECC specific procedures and documentation.
12. Provide resilience for planned and/or short notice cover for the Control Centre Managers.
13. To carry out any other reasonable duties or requests made from time to time by line management or senior staff.
What We Require of You:
1. Relevant control/operations room experience at managerial level is essential.
2. Proficient in the use of technical systems.
3. Have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of industry-leading products relevant to the efficient function of control room operations.
4. Highly competent in the use of Office 365 applications.
5. Capable of implementing change whilst working under pressure to achieve deadlines.
6. Hold relevant qualifications, preferably at Degree level.
7. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Data Protection and Information Security practices.
8. Excellent communicator with sound organisation and presentation skills.
9. Demonstrate proven project experience of a technical and operational nature.
10. Capable of report writing effectively and accurately.
11. Capable of making decisions and maintaining accountability through sound judgement skills.
12. Capable of working flexibly and able to support senior management at short or sufficient notice.
