Salary Details
Grade: G01 SCP: From 1 To 4
Salary: From £22,366 To £23,114 pro rata
Employment Start Date: 3rd March 2025Ysgol Sychdyn are looking to appoint a Midday Assistant to supervise pupils throughout the lunchtime period. This will be on the playground and in the dinner hall ensuring the children’s safety and welfare along with supporting their play.

The role is term time only.

Overall Responsibility
• Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations of behaviour, manners and kindness.
• Supervise pupils throughout the lunchtime period, ensuring they are safely supervised and supported during the lunchtime break.
Support for the Pupils
• Responsible for supervising and monitoring pupils during lunchtime period, either in the school hall or on the yard.
• Assisting children to partake in eating their lunches and the development of their mealtime skills. This may include helping younger children to open drinks or sachets.
• If on the yard, help organise and supervise games.
• Encouraging positive social interaction and good behaviour and responding to incidents as and when necessary.
• Encourage the use of good manners.
• Ensure relevant equipment and materials are sufficient and in good working order prior to usage. Report any faults, breakages etc to the designated line manager.
• Assisting pupils with dressing appropriately (zipping up coats, reminders for sun hats etc.) for outdoor activities / play.

• Supervise play activities relevant to physical, social and emotional development
Support for the School
• Maintain an agreed standard of cleanliness and hygiene to ensure the wellbeing of the children, including spillages on floors or tables.
• Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security and confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
• Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
• Appreciate and support the role of other professionals.
• Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required.
