Job overview
An exciting opportunity has risen within the Security Services Department in Facilities Services.
You will be required to support the Trust Security Department in the delivery of Security Services to the Trust. You will provide direct immediate response to all Trust security incidents, managing the situation as the first responder and making assessments for wider escalation in keeping with a security and healthcare environment.
You will be involved daily in high level impact and intense situations, requiring the regular use of conflict management and physical intervention, resulting in a physical and mentally demanding role.
You will provide a security presence by undertaking regular patrols, both externally and internally, around the Trust, interacting with site users, observing for any suspicious activity and undertaking dynamic risk assessments of the situation to deal with as appropriate.
You will be responsible for maintaining a professional approach to your work and responding in a rapid manner to all security and emergency incidents.
Main duties of the job
Being a team member of the Security Team, you will have both a group and individual responsibility for defined aspects of the service and will ensure that your contribution is both positive and beneficial in helping Trust Security, Capital Estates and Facilities Management and other departments of the Trust to fulfil the Trust’s overall objectives.
You will contribute to the work of the Security Service with the guidance of the Security Management Team, to ensure that the Security Service meets agreed standards.
You will be the initial responder to all security incidents, resulting in the need for a physical presence to support and protect Trust staff, property and patients.
You will have a responsibility to action tasks when assigned to you, ensuring a proactive and professional approach.

We are currently seeking to recruit to multiple vacancies within the team.
We have a number of vacancies to recruit into our Rota Shift Team. You will be required to cover (07:00-19:00hrs & 19:00-07:00hrs 4 Days 4 Nights and 4 off) on a 37.5 hour per week contract.
We also have 1 vacancy to fill within our Regular Shift Team, where you will be required to cover (08:00-16:00hrs Monday to Friday) on a 40 hours per week contract.
Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa. Therefore, please be advised that if you are a Student visa holder, we will not be able to offer you a full time permanent contract unless you have:
* Applied for a Graduate visa
* Successfully completed your course and have applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of your employment
