Great that you're thinking about a career with BSI Job Title: Accounts Assistant, Account Payable Location : Milton Keynes (hybrid) About the role: As the Accounts Assistant (AP), you will sit within the Accounts Payable team of BSI’s Finance Shared Service Centre, which supports BSI Group companies in the UK, Continental Europe and the Middle East. The main purpose of your position would be to ensure that invoices are accurately recorded, are authorised in accordance with Group accounting policies and processed for payment in accordance with agreed terms and to ensure that liabilities are accurately recorded, and supplier queries are promptly resolved. This is a busy time of year for the team, so experience in a similar fast-paced role will help you to hit the ground running in supporting on all AP tasks, and contributing to the wider business at this exciting time of evolution. Responsibilities: Ensure supplier invoices are promptly and accurately recorded in the accounting system in accordance with the SLA. Act as a point of contact for assigned company codes or departments to ensure that the supplier invoice process is understood. Check that supplier invoices are authorised in line with the Group’s authority matrix and posted accurately so that only valid payments are made. Create payment runs and ensure timely execution of payments. Reconcile supplier statements to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded in the purchase ledger. May administer company credit cards, daily cash forecasts and other tasks from Tax and Treasury to support the work of the broader Finance team. May administer the expenses system and supplier interfaces around expenses, including fleet and hotel bookings, to support the smooth running of the business. To be successful in the role, you will have: Previous experience in an accounts position, and/or an accountancy qualification. Ability to follow and enforce process and to produce accurate work with attention to detail. Excellent numerical skills and an aptitude to perform account reconciliations. Strong communication skills, verbal and written. Solid organisation skills to meet deadlines. Ability to follow procedures and process.
