The Governing Body of Aberbargoed Primary School is looking to employ an enthusiastic, committed and hard-working Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work within our mixed Nursery/Reception Class.

• The Governing Body is seeking to appoint a dynamic Level 2 teaching assistant to support learning in the school. Candidates will be required to have NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education or equivalent, to support learning in the school.
• The Teaching Assistant will be required to work under the guidance of, and with the supervision of the Teaching and Senior Staff to implement agreed programmes of work.
• The postholder will be expected to support class teachers with assessment procedures and behaviour management.
• There will be a focus on working as a member of our strong school team, encouraging positive behaviour in our children and assisting them in achieving high standards.
• There will be a requirement to understand and have prior experience of the Foundation Phase.
• The postholder may be expected to lead a Read, Write, Inc group and ensure resources are readied and work marked to a high standard.
• The post holder will be expected to have good skills in ICT, literacy and maths.
• An ability to be well-organised and work efficiently is essential.
• The post holder will be expected to attend a weekly staff meeting and support an extracurricular club once a week within directed hours.
