Senior Quantity Surveyor
Based: Leighton Buzzard office; Office based with travel around the local sites throughout Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Working 08:30 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Within our Social Housing Planned refurbishment works programs and some projects, such as Kitchen, Bathroom, Window and Doors, and Roofing refits, you will work both from our office and on site, collaborating with your team in an environment that is inclusive and fair for everyone.
You will work closely with the Operational teams in Leighton Buzzard and cover contracts across the region, which are typically planned refurbishment works of Tenanted Social Housing properties (including all aspects of refurbishments to properties such as Kitchens, bathrooms, doors, and roofing replacements) Voids and sustainability works. Your role is to obtain and evaluate information to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services for designated Refurbishment/Projects, while liaising with Contractors, Suppliers, and Clients to ensure information, costs, profitability, and value meet the requirements of designated project/contracts.

An outline of your responsibilities as a Senior Quantity Surveyor:
* Monitor the contract progress, assess, and report any changes that may affect project costs and/or time scale.
* Liaise with Contract Managers to establish the project specification and requirements.
* Value and authorise payments to sub-contractors.
* Assist in the control of contract budgets.
* Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects.
* Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment to the Client/Clients representative.
* Prepare monthly valuation reports.
* Submit invoices for certified value and ensure payments are received on time.
* Attend and contribute to meetings with work colleagues and/or Clients/Customers when necessary, building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills.
* Assist in the development of the procurement programme.
* Assist in the preparation, processing, and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales.
About You:
You will have experience of working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor preferably within the Social Housing sector. Your expertise as a Surveyor will give you the knowledge to hit the ground running and contribute effectively to the team, as a person of knowledge and wealth of experience from the Commercial aspect of our sector. Attention to detail and great written and verbal communication skills will be essential to your success. You will be proficient with IT and have strong MS Office skills. You must also hold a Full UK Driving Licence as travel is a must for this role. A DBS check will be required.
