We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Payroll Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accuracy in employee compensation, and maintaining payroll records. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and familiarity with various accounting software systems. Your attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring that all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
Duties
1. Process payroll for employees on a fortnightly basis, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
2. Maintain and update payroll records, including employee hours, deductions, and benefits.
3. Assist in the preparation of reports related to payroll data for management review.
4. Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
5. Handle inquiries related to payroll from employees, providing clear and accurate information.
6. Utilise accounting software such as SAGE 50 Payroll for payroll processing and reporting.
7. Perform data entry tasks related to payroll adjustments and new hire information.
8. Support accounts payable functions as needed, ensuring seamless financial operations.
Experience
1. Previous experience in a payroll or accounting role is preferred; however, full training will be given.
2. Proficiency in using accounting software and tools is essential; experience with SAGE 50 payroll is desirable but not essential.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data accurately.
4. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are required.
5. Ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment while also being self-motivated.
