Job Description:
We are seeking a creative and versatile Social Content Creator to join our dynamic content team. This role goes beyond traditional social media management—you will be responsible for sourcing, creating, and delivering engaging content that resonates with our audience and drives growth across our platforms. The ideal candidate will have a journalistic approach to storytelling, technical skills in photography and videography, and the ability to edit high-quality content using tools like Capcut, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Photoshop. You will work closely with writers, videographers, and account managers to produce a mix of editorial and client-based content, ensuring it aligns with our brand and audience expectations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a creative team that is passionate about showcasing the best of Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Creation and Storytelling
o Research and source interesting stories, places, and events to cover across Greater Manchester.
o Take a journalistic approach to content creation, including interviewing people, filming on location, and capturing compelling narratives.
o Create a mix of editorial and client-based content, ensuring it aligns with our brand and audience interests.
o Write engaging captions and hooks to maximise content performance and viral potential.
2. Photography and Videography
o Shoot high-quality photos and videos using both smartphones and professional cameras (experience with professional cameras is a bonus).
o Demonstrate a strong visual eye, ensuring content is visually impressive even when using basic tools like smartphones.
o Collaborate with the video team to film longer-form content, ensuring consistency in style and quality.
o Capture dynamic and visually appealing footage that tells a story and engages the audience.
3. Video Editing and Graphic Design
o Edit videos and reels using tools like Capcut and Adobe Premiere Pro, ensuring high-quality outputs for both editorial and client work.
o Create graphic posts for announcements, events, and campaigns using Adobe Photoshop.
o Experiment with new formats, styles, and techniques to keep content fresh and innovative.
4. Social Media Management
o Plan, schedule, and publish content across our social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and YouTube.
o Monitor social media performance, analyse insights, and adjust strategies to maximise engagement and growth.
o Stay up-to-date with social media trends and platform updates to ensure our content remains relevant and competitive.
5. Collaboration and Teamwork
o Work closely with the editorial team to align social content with written articles and features.
o Collaborate with the account management team to deliver client-focused content that meets campaign objectives.
o Support the wider content team with creative input and technical expertise.
6. Audience Engagement and Growth
o Engage with our audience through comments, messages, and community interactions to build relationships and foster loyalty.
o Identify opportunities to grow our social media presence and reach new audiences.
o Ensure our content continues to position Manchester’s Finest as the go-to, trusted resource for recommendations in the city.
