Tara are working with a reputable educational institution in Shrewsbury dedicated to providing exceptional support and education for students a range of needs including complex needs and autism. With a commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join the team. Position Overview: As a SEN TA, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of our students aged 3-19 with a range of needs, including autism and ADHD. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to implement tailored support plans and create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. Timetable: Part time Hours of work: 8:30 – 12:30 Monday – Friday Start: ASAP Duration: October half term with potential for ongoing Key Responsibilities for the new SEN TA: Assist students individually or in small groups to help them understand and complete assignments. Support the teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities. Work closely with teachers to develop and implement strategies to enhance student learning. Perform other related duties as assigned by the teacher or school administration. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies tailored to each student's needs. Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their independence, self-esteem, and social skills development. Requirements for the new SEN TA: Previous experience working with students with complex needs, preferably within an educational setting. Certificates to include supporting complex challenging behaviours and restricting physical interventions. Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and strategies for supporting individuals with diverse needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers. Patience, empathy, and resilience in working with students facing challenges. Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training in areas such as autism awareness, behaviour management, and safeguarding.
