Job Description:
Responsibilities
* Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
* Design Deliverables: Ensuring all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
* Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
* Project Support: Contributing to and supporting the entire project and product design cycle, from concept to construction and installation.
* Technical Support: Providing technical support during the construction and installation phases.
* Perform self-verification of work.
* Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
* Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented.
* Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.
* Acting effectively as Discipline SQEP (Suitably qualified and experienced personnel).
Qualifications
* The candidate is required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification in Structural/Outfitting discipline subject.
* Apprenticeship in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
Essential skills
* Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.
* Proficiency in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD systems, both in 3D & 2D environments, including FORAN.
Experience
* Experience in design working on naval or commercial marine projects, preferably naval shipbuilding projects or similar, including new build or major conversion packages.
