We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled researcher to work on a nutrition and metabolism research project investigating the effects of a very-low carbohydrate (ketogenic) diet on colorectal cancer risk. The project will combine analysing samples for a Randomised Controlled Trial with comprehensive phenotyping of the circulation and peripheral tissues using state of the art omics approaches, and link these to colorectal cancer risk using Mendelian randomization. The successful candidate will work within Dr Vincent’s interdisciplinary research group in Translational Health Sciences at the University of Bristol and will join a vibrant team working on this project. This research is supported by Cancer Research UK and is being conducted in partnership with co-investigators at University of Bath (Prof Javier Gonzalez and Dr Francoise Koumanov), Imperial College London (Dr James Yarmolinsky) and University of Cambridge (Dr Emma Hazelwood). The role is based within Bristol Medical School. Line management will be provided by Dr Emma Vincent, Associate Professor in Molecular metabolism.
