However, we will also consider candidates that have some of the following: Childcare Experience – working with children and young people previously (working with children with MSI/PMLD/ASD is an advantage). Any experience working with Multi Disabled visually impaired (MDVI), with working experience with Manual handling, Makaton or BSL desirable. Great interpersonal and communication skills with genuine, caring attitude. Good communication with fellow peers and support staff. Creative, enthusiastic, imaginative and caring approach to children with Special Educational needs & Disabilities. A willingness to learn and have a genuine enthusiasm to make a difference. Teaching Assistant Qualifications or above preferred, but not necessary.Your Main Duties: Offer support for the school’s students before, during and after their lessons. Assisting students with their understanding and participation in tasks. Help promote each student’s love of learning. Actively participate in team meetings. Always follow the regulations pertaining to Safeguarding. When required, support individual’s needs, including assisting with a wide range of medical and occasionally, personal care tasks and physical support where needed (Training will be provided in giving medical care and support). Working either on a 1:1 or group basis to support learning. Inspiring and engaging with children with a wide range of additional learning needs. Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils, which may include feeding, changing and manual handling (TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL).As an agency worker you are only paid for the days you have worked. Therefore, you will not be paid during the school holidays.
