Electrical Technician Role at Thames Water
We are recruiting an Electrical Technician to join our waste team in Wargrave, Berkshire. This role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to carry out scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency electrical maintenance, ensuring compliance with company procedures to minimize plant downtime.
Responsibilities include:
1. Investigating plant failures and performing repairs promptly to prevent process interruptions, including diagnosing complex faults.
2. Providing technical advice, referencing up-to-date knowledge, and supporting training for technical trainees.
3. Working on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, centrifuges, pumps, control gear, VSDs, control systems, valves, measurement devices, PLCs, and chemical dosing equipment.
Location: Wargrave, near Reading, RG10 8DJ
Working Hours: 38 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm. Overtime and standby rota payments can increase annual earnings by up to £10,000. All PPE, tools, vehicle, and fuel card are provided.
Candidate Requirements:
* Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems within a multi-skilled environment.
* Qualifications such as electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC, NVQ, or C&G Level 3 in mechanical engineering, with mechanical upskilling preferred.
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards and experience working in confined spaces.
* Valid driving license.
