Overview:
As an Account Director at Hollr, you are directing your account teams to deliver the day-to-day activity on your accounts. In addition to outstanding delivery, you also take a strategic approach to your work. You think more broadly than tactical activation – seeking out opportunities for growth to existing and new business opportunities. You will be aware of the wider social, economic and political landscape and advise the client with well-judged ideas and concepts.
You lead on developing proposals for clients and prospects, working into your senior colleagues to ensure the output is impressive thinking that sets us apart from our competitors. You have strong commercial acumen and are adept at developing budgets which are profitable for the business. You have an impressive network of clients, journalists in business/financial outlets and helpful contacts.
You pride yourself on being a team player – taking a ‘can do’ approach to your work. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, working efficiently to tight deadlines. Your written and verbal capabilities are second to none and you have an excellent eye for detail, ensuring everything is presented in the best possible and most accurate way.

Media
* Demonstrate an impressive understanding of the media landscape and the outlets and journalists who operate within it and ability to secure coverage – with a particular focus on business and financial outlets
* Responsible for account direction of campaign launches – effectively work with team to manage bids and handle media efficiently and with confidence and leading junior colleagues to support with this and upskill where needed
* Showcase an aptitude for developing campaign / story angles brought to life with supporting package/assets with a focus on cross-Group delivery e.g. content, research etc.
* Avidly consume media (of all types) and share any insightful or useful information with your colleagues – e.g. journalist moves, updates to a social media platforms, new features etc.
* Lead your junior team by example and ensure you keep up with media contacts, meeting them on a regular basis and introducing them to the wider team to help build contacts out.
New business
* Take an active role in identifying new business opportunities for prospects and growth opportunities in existing clients
* Develop and utilise your network (e.g. through networking events, thought-leadership etc.) to facilitate new business conversations
* Lead on developing proposals, supporting senior colleagues with the strategic development and show how you are able to think laterally when developing responses e.g. bringing in cross-Group expertise. Ensure you work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.
* Be proactive in identifying marketing / thought-leadership opportunities to promote Hollr offering externally for new business (e.g. drafting articles for LinkedIn, suggesting social content etc.)
Commercial acumen
* Be responsible for reporting revenue and Gross Profit for your a
* ccountsDemonstrate strong financial awareness – budget development, contribution to internal reporting processes etc.
* Take an active role in negotiating (e.g. with suppliers / talent etc.) on behalf of clients and for Hollr to ensure profitability
* Monitor resourcing levels and make constructive suggestions to support with workflow to senior management
* Ensure all accounts are maintained within budget and time constraints and be proactive in solving any problems.
Written and verbal communication
* Showcase excellent written and verbal communication skills across all of your outputs and a high level of attention to detail – with excellent spelling, grammar and proof-reading cabilities
* Draft messaging documents, narratives, broadcast advisories, briefing documents, coverage reports etc. if needed
* Excellent presentation skills; must be able to confidently and creatively create PowerPoint and Word presentations and proposals that will sell strategy and creative and be able to confidently present to clients.
Digital
* Demonstrate a good understanding of how digital environment is changing the nature of traditional PR practices and understanding of where digital plays a role in communication strategy
* Ability to plan, integrate and execute online PR activities within your clients digital and traditional PR plans
* Ensure entire team are continually up-skilled on digital innovation. Assess skills gaps and training requirements in the team on digital innovation.
