South Norfolk and Broadland Councils One Planning team is a fast-paced and busy team responsible for delivering against an ambitious growth agenda. A vacancy has arisen for a project and business support role that will play an integral part of the team’s success and performance in providing project management and business support.
Every day will bring a new challenge and a variety of work so you will need the ability to multi-task, with great communication and project management skills and enjoy problem-solving.

The two Councils receive circa 4000 planning applications per year, covering a diverse area including urban areas, rural areas, and vibrant market towns. We serve approximately 260,000 residents and 10,000 businesses across 161 parishes. Our work therefore also encompasses both urban and rural planning, residential, retail, commercial, and agricultural development.
We are an ambitious organisation and a dynamic, forward-thinking, and proactive multi-disciplinary Planning team; seeking to deliver against the growth agenda, shaping and creating sustainable communities and protecting and enhancing our rich cultural heritage and landscape.
Working as one team across two Councils you will be part of a busy Planning team working to support the Development Manager and the wider team on project delivery and day-to-day business support to contribute to successful delivery of growth of the two districts.

What you’ll be doing…
* Providing business support to the Development Manager and other managers as required.
* Project co-ordination of the delivery of projects and workstreams across the planning department.
* Assist in management of incoming communication, including telephone and email correspondence.
* Preparation of reports, briefs and data to support the delivery of projects and workstreams.
You will… have a minimum of 3 A levels (Grade A-C); GCSEs to include English Language and Maths or NVQ Administration Level 3; or equivalent relevant experience.
