BAM Construction are recruiting a Quality Advisor (Operational Delivery) for the Scottish Region, based at our Stepps Office, Glasgow.
BAM Construction intend to be “best in class” for the quality of our projects. Working closely with the region’s construction management, reporting into both the Senior Management Team and the Quality & Improvement Business Partner - Construction, you will be responsible for promoting a class leading quality orientated culture and learning across the region while at the same time ensuring that our project teams fully understand what we are building, the specifications we are building to, testing regimes and our legal responsibilities. A key focus of the role will be implementation of our business quality policies and procedures.
Your mission
You will be responsible for:
1. Implementing our quality strategy across the region.
2. Work with project teams and our supply chain to strive for continuous improvement of construction quality.
3. Engage with BAM Construction’s project teams to review Supply Chain quality issues and assist with resolution.
4. Culture – Developing and growing our quality culture within the region, encouraging and assisting project teams to challenge designs, interrogate installations, review certification and properly record compliance.
5. Working with our supply chain – consultants, subcontractors and manufacturers to encourage them to share our quality culture and translate it into their own organisations.
6. Collating quality data and statistics from within the region and reporting on a monthly basis.
7. Work with our Quality & Improvement Business Partner to develop our culture, learning and compliance ownership.
8. Knowledge – Assist in producing lesson’s learned bulletins, workshops, learning modules and other methods of sharing knowledge.
9. Attend meetings with the Quality & Improvement Business Partner and other regional Quality Advisors enabling a network of information and experiences such that BAM Construction can benefit from for shared learning.
10. Prepare case studies and bulletins on regional experiences of defects resolution and new product trials.
11. Assist the project teams in drawing up project test and inspection plans, to be implemented and monitored as the project proceeds.
12. Provide ‘construction quality’ technical training to project teams/managers on construction details, products and installation.
13. Liaise with the regions Aftercare Manager to enable feedback into the processes and systems that will prevent repeat future defect re-occurrences.
14. Assist project teams in identifying/reviewing any new, untried (by BAM) products are suitable.
15. Audits/Reviews – Supporting and carrying out regular inspections/audit reviews of projects to establish if work is being carried out in accordance with our company procedures, drawings, specifications, product manufacturers recommendations, testing and compliance requirements.
16. Support project teams by reviewing details and physical works in progress at various stages of the construction cycle to ensure that we achieve the highest standard of quality in the works we deliver.
17. Promoting accurate reporting of non-conformances and provide advice.
18. Formal monthly reporting of construction quality issues.
19. Represent BAM Construction at meetings or interviews regarding construction quality.

To be successful in this role you will be expected to be an enthusiastic, detailed, and dynamic problem solver. You will have a good technical ability, be able to understand design, product and installation compliance and share knowledge with our project teams. Relationships will be key in this role, and you will therefore be capable of building relationships with the senior management team and project teams.
