An exciting opportunity has arisen (12 month fixed term post) for a talented and dynamic senior nurse leader to join the Urgent Care nurse leadership team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as Head of Nursing for Urgent Care
The Head of Nursing is a key role within the Urgent Care leadership team and will collectively be responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of services within the division reporting to the Divisional Director of Nursing.
Candidates must have an extensive clinical background, evidence of wider experience at a senior nurse level, and experience of managing complex workloads and areas. The post holder will be responsible for effective clinical and operational management within the specialities and will support the Divisional Director of Nursing to drive the strategic direction of the service, ensuring business plans, budgets, workforce and staff development are in place to deliver quality of service for the division and the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work in collaboration with exceptional and established clinical leaders to support the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
The role will be jointly responsible for the governance agenda across the clinical areas and laying out Trust initiatives and service improvement plans.

The Head of Nursing is responsible for managing the provision of the nursing service through managerial and professional leadership of the nursing teams. In this essential role, your portfolio will include strong clinical knowledge, previous extensive managerial experience and demonstrate experience in influential leadership and change management within an acute hospital setting. You will have a proven record in improving safety and working within a complex environment with skills in communication and problem solving.
We are seeking a strong nurse leader who encompasses all of the above qualities and skills and has a desire to drive the team onwards.
