Job Description Mechanical Fitters, a fantastic opportunity awaits you with a prominent end-to-end solutions provider operating in the water sector. As part of their ongoing investment in the UK-based delivery team, my partner is seeking three mechanical fitters with fabrication experience. This role offers stability as it is a full-time, permanent position located in Gloucester, covering the Midlands and the South. What We're Looking For in a Mechanical Fitter: Minimum of 2 years of experience in utilities or M&E engineering. Proficiency in steelwork assembly, welding, and on-site mechanical tasks. Possession of verifiable welding or steel fixing certifications. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues. Experience in the UK water industry is preferred, with scraper bridge installation expertise being a significant plus. Willingness to travel regionally and nationally, including overnight stays, and occasionally to headquarters in Ireland as required. Mechanical Fitter Key Responsibilities: Perform on-site mechanical installations for scraper bridges and wastewater/water treatment plant equipment. Adhere to Health & Safety standards, policies, and statutory regulations. Ensure the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems meet British, ISO, and client standards. Carry out repairs, upgrades, and refurbishments on existing systems. Implement industry best practices and workmanship to achieve a 'right first time' installation. Work with mild and stainless steel, including cutting, grinding, welding, and fixing. Handle various types of pipework, including stainless, ductile, and mild steel. Collaborate effectively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and contractors. Follow relevant Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work Plans, prioritizing safety. Maintain daily reporting and uphold company HSQE policies for all activities.
