English Teacher - SEMH School
Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a specialist school catering for children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring educator with a strong background in teaching English, who is committed to helping students develop their literacy skills in a nurturing and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people with additional needs and be able to tailor lessons to engage and motivate students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that are engaging and appropriate for students with SEMH needs.
2. Support students in developing their reading, writing, and communication skills.
3. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe and supported.
4. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement strategies to support student progress.
5. Provide pastoral care and support to students, promoting their well-being and development.
6. Work with external partners and stakeholders to support students' wider needs.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Qualified English Teacher with experience teaching in a SEND/SEMH setting (or a strong willingness to learn).
2. Passionate about supporting young people with additional needs to achieve their potential.
3. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage students in their learning.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. A commitment to creating a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
