Civil Estimator
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Civil Estimator to join the team at Galliford Try.
As a Civil Estimator, you will support the business through the submission of accurate and competitive tenders to satisfy the clients' requirements and to ensure the Company secures adequate new business to achieve targeted turnover and profit levels with appropriate year on year growth. Primarily working as part of a versatile and experienced team on infrastructure/non-infrastructure Clean Water, Wastewater, and Sludge Treatment projects. Galliford Try has Frameworks in all of the UK Water PLCs with a good, long-term pipeline of work into AMP 8.
You will:
* Prepare enquiry schedules and liaise with the procurement team in the selection of appropriate companies from whom quotations should be sought.
* Obtain sufficient quotations to enable valid commercial judgements at the tender finalisation meetings.
* Provide all information necessary to enable the review of the conditions of contract, insurance, bonds, and warranties.
* Produce analytical rate build-up information for Bills of Quantities in an accurate and well-detailed format.
* Continually refine analytical cost data derived from feedback.
* Identify and analyse opportunities to give a commercial advantage to tenders.
* Identify and analyse risks and produce a risk register for each tender.
* Prepare preliminary cost estimates.
* Preparation of commercial documents for tender submission.
* Attend tender finalisation meetings, present all relevant cost information, and complete the tender as instructed.
About You:

* Understanding of Conditions of Contract.
* Clean Water, Wastewater, and Sludge Treatment infrastructure and non-infrastructure experience preferred.
* Understanding of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's).
* Understanding of CESWI specification and CESMM.
* High level of commercial awareness and technical knowledge.
* Aware of individual Health and Safety responsibilities and adheres to company health and safety policy and procedures.
* Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values - Excellence, Passion, Integrity, and Collaboration.
