Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) – Southampton, Hampshire Join a supportive secondary school in Southampton as a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), earning between £17,000 to £19,000 per year. Starting in February 2025, Easter 2025, or as soon as possible, this flexible role offers up to five days of work per week, supporting children with Autism on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. A permanent contract will be offered following a successful probationary period. Ideal candidates will have prior SEN experience or relevant transferable skills. Responsibilities of the SEN TA: Provide 1:1 and group support for students with Autism, adapting to their individual learning styles. Assist teachers in planning and delivering inclusive lessons. Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. Monitor and document student progress, sharing updates with teachers and parents as required. Support students with emotional regulation and social interaction, promoting positive behaviour and confidence. Requirements of the SEN TA : Experience working with children with SEN, particularly Autism, or transferable skills from related roles. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
