Special Needs Youth Worker
Location: Towcester
Pay: 85 - 110 p/day
Start date: 6th - 27th January 2025
We are currently looking for Special Needs Youth Workers to provide support to pupils aged 8-18 with challenging behaviours, Aspergers, ASD, and ADHD.
This role is a temporary to permanent position, so please be willing to transition into a permanent role when applying.
All candidates must be able to work full time, 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday. Part-time applications will not be considered.
If you have or are studying an Education degree at the University of Northampton, we encourage you to apply, as our school highly values your experience and knowledge.
The candidate needs to:
1. Provide references from an educational background
2. Have experience with children or young adults (essential)
3. Support SEND pupils
4. Maintain a professional manner in and outside of the school
5. Exhibit friendliness and resilience, as behaviours can be challenging
6. Demonstrate a desire to support children
7. Possess excellent behaviour management skills, or be willing to learn
8. Support on a 1:1 basis when needed
9. Build strong relationships with staff and pupils
10. Work on-site and off-site, managing behaviours in both areas
11. Be flexible in the workplace
12. Be Team Teach trained (desirable, not essential)

The registration is free. You will need references covering your last 2 years of employment, with at least 1 from your most recent school. To work in schools, you need a child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service. Monarch Education will refund the cost of the DBS if needed.
