Full Time, Permanent
Location: Move On Team Based at 100 Temple Street and working with households.
The Housing Options Service is recruiting to pivotal roles in our service. We are redesigning and investing in our service to:
1. Increase our success in preventing homelessness.
2. End our use of hotels and shared temporary accommodation for families.
3. Improve move on from Temporary Accommodation.
4. Reduce our use of and spend on Temporary Accommodation.
The Move On Team is a newly established Housing Options Team, including Move On Officers, Housing Support Register Co-ordinators, a Priority Move On Scheme function, and a Team Leader, who will supervise your work and the development of the team.
The cost of emergency and temporary accommodation is a significant financial challenge for the council. You will join us at a time of huge positive change as we redesign our Housing Options service. The Housing Support Register Co-ordinator ensures that we can nominate daily to much-needed vacant accommodation in our commissioned high support services, assisting those in greatest need of high support accommodation, so that clients can move in on the same day.
On a daily basis, you will monitor vacancies in our support services. To do this, you will need to maintain and develop positive working relationships with a range of internal and external service providers. In particular, work closely with staff responsible for coordinating access to non-commissioned accommodation to ensure the most effective use of accommodation and support services for homeless clients.
Our daily working tool is the Housing Support Register, making best use of our Trusted Assessment to share key support needs with all our Housing Providers. If you have not used this before, please don't worry; full training and insight will be part of your induction.
If you are a strong communicator with an understanding of homelessness and can work at pace daily to ensure no one is left without accommodation, this is a role you can excel in.
As an authority, we offer a generous leave allowance of 25 days pro-rata. You will be able to work from home for the role; however, we would like you to spend some days in the office environment, especially more days during your induction programme.
Please do read the job description and person specification attached, but most importantly, take time to look at our "Day in the life of a Housing Support Register Coordinator." The previous post holder has given a unique insight into their daily tasks.
