What you'll do As a Senior Buyer at Sainsbury's, this lead buying role will require you to provide broad leadership in the Commercial team by effectively translating the category strategy and overseeing its execution to drive profitable growth within your assigned ranges and teams. You will be accountable for range building in large turnover categories, ensuring the selection and trading strategy aligns with the commercial strategy while delivering a customer-focused proposition and meeting target KPIs. This will involve collaborating with product development, global sourcing teams, and suppliers to achieve optimum cost and profit. Additionally, you will act as a coach and leader, managing, motivating, and developing the Buying team, while closely working with merchandising counterparts to ensure the successful implementation of the category strategy. Your strategic vision will drive range creation, own brand proposition, and market influence to differentiate and curate a compelling customer proposition. Managing pricing, budgeting, supply chain, promotions, and channel management will also be key responsibilities. Ability to work at pace and drive impact and lead change collaboratively where necessary.
