Entity: Production & Operations Job Family Group: HSSE Group Job Description: As a Contractor Safety Advisor, the successful candidate will play a critical role in developing and maintaining contractor safety guides and procedures within region and will be responsible for providing their expertise to support operational activities including alignment with industry and internal best practices. This will involve providing input to the risk classification of contracts and advise on HSSE requirements during tender qualification and selection processes; as well as managing and providing insights on contractor performance data, project plans, and associated dashboards relating to regional or site contractor safety elements What you will deliver Some key accountabilities will include: Providing advice on contractually required contractor HSSE documentation. Supporting decisions around contractor readiness to start work based on contractual HSSE commitments. Advising those in contract facing roles on contractor HSSE performance management requirements Supporting contractor safety intervention initiatives as agreed. Inputting to contractor risk and barrier management activities relating to region and site operations. Providing coaching and support to those with contract facing roles. Developing and maintaining sound working relationships with the leadership of strategic and core contractor companies. Building regional competence to ensure delivery of Contractor Safety activities. Working with external providers (ISN/SEQual) to coordinate the HSSE screening of bidders involved in high risk tenders and contracts. Supporting line as requested, to ensure relevant BP and industry learnings are shared with relevant contractor companies. Conducting formal reviews of high risk contractor self-verification and oversight plans to confirm alignment to scope risk, barriers impacted and any relevant Life Saving Rules as well as conformance to performance management requirements. Leading regional, site or entity contractor safety community of practice calls. Participating in and leading regional, site or entity contractor leadership forums (as agreed) Providing oversight to technical reviews or investigations performed by contractors as requested. Developing and leading the implementation of contractor safety related actions relating to central strategies as requested. What you will need to be successful In addition to having a Degree / diploma (or similar) in an engineering, science, HSE or related subject, it will be important to also have: Certified IOSH membership (Chartered Membership also preferred) Stakeholder management skills. Ability to interrogate and analyse data to provide valuable trends and insights. Ability to develop procedures and conform to BP OMS processes. Expertise in general HSE, contractor management and auditing. Why join us?
