An exciting opportunity has arisen within The Early Intervention in Psychosis Service (EIP South) of Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust for a passionate and highly motivated Community Support Worker (Band 3) to join our team.
The EIP service is delivered through a multidisciplinary team of practitioners who provide comprehensive assessments and evidence-based interventions for people aged 14-65 who are experiencing a First Episode Psychosis (FEP) or an At Risk Mental State (ARMS) for the development of psychosis.
We are looking for applicants with a keen interest in working with the client groups served by EIP and a desire to effectively support their families, to join a dedicated, enthusiastic and supportive team.
A good understanding of the principles, ethos, assessments and interventions associated with working within an Early Intervention in Psychosis team will be key. We provide additional training and support to contribute to the successful delivery of a high quality NICE concordant service, including Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT).
The EIP team is a community-based service which operates Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Responsibilities:
1. To support and contribute to the timely assessment of service users within two weeks of being referred to the EIP service.
2. To hold a personal caseload under the supervision of qualified members of the MDT.
3. To contribute and input into comprehensive risk assessments for service users, supporting care coordinators with their initial formulation of risk.
4. To ensure appropriate professional standards are met.
5. To demonstrate improvements via national benchmarking.
6. To be managed and monitored via supervision and appraisal structures.
7. To contribute to the review and updating of risk management plans for service users on their personal caseload.
8. To support the identification of co-morbid symptoms which may be present (e.g., substance misuse, anxiety, depression, trauma) and contribute to intervening with these as directed and supervised by qualified members of the MDT.
9. To support EIP Physical Health Practitioners in ensuring service users receive regular physical health checks at assessment, 3 months, 6 months, and annually thereafter in line with national standards.
10. To be accountable and report to the EIP team manager.
