Days & Hours: Typical Shifts will be: After school hours 5.30pm-9.30pm. Weekends 10.30am-9.00pm Saturday, 1.00pm-8.00pm Sundays, Waking nights 10.00pm-7.30am. More hours will be available during the school holidays.
Pay: £15.00 per hour Monday to Friday days and nights and £16.00 per hour Weekend days and nights
Driver required? Essential
Driving Clients Car? Yes, our clients Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle (WAV),
Essential: Experience and confident with working with people with medical conditions, especially epilepsy, Hard working, child and family centred
Desirable: Experience of working waking nights. Experience of working with children with special needs (This is preferred but enthusiasm, patience and willingness to learn is desirable).

Our client is a sensitive young man who enjoys, being active, going out in nature, being read too, Art, swimming, music, movies mainly comedies, and cooking with his mum, he can also be fashion-conscious too, the list could go on but this young man, knows what he wants and what he does not want.
Our client has dystonic Cerebral Palsy, which affects all four limbs and epilepsy with some developmental delays. He requires help with all aspects of his daily care needs. He is hoisted safely for all transfers which requires the assistance and is also a full time user of a wheelchair for mobility, along with several other pieces of equipment for physical development as this is paramount for any person with CP.
Your role will be to provide help for our client with all aspects of daily care needs, transfers and monitoring of seizures and to engage in social activities within the community and helping him with his therapy programme daily. Waking night care required for postural management at night, personal care when needed, comfort and reassurance as our client may wake several times, along with continuous monitoring due to seizures and notes if seizure patterns changed and to inform the family of this. Domestic tasks are also required.
