Job summary Maybush Medical Centre is looking to recruit two experienced health care assistants (HCA) to join our friendly practice teams; one will be based at Maybush and the other at Eastmoor Health Centre. Both sites are successful practices with the highest standards of care. Maybush has approximately 9000 patients whilst Eastmoor currently has 300 patients. Both practices are looking to increase the list site. Main duties of the job We are looking for two dedicated and friendly HCAs who will fit into our high performing team. We are ideally looking for 20 hours across 5 days at both sites. We can however be flexible for the right applicant. You will support the practice nursing team in the delivery of nursing services. The HCA will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education. blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and recording findings accurately Carry out annual reviews for chronic diseases e.g hypertension, diabetes, asthma etc Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring Carry out ECGs Carry out BMI checks and provide weight management advice Administer Blood Tests Carry out Spirometry tests Intramuscular injections under PSD Undertake wound care and carry out simple dressings Removal of sutures Undertake NHS Health Check Processing of samples e.g. urine Ensure specimens are recorded and ready for onward transportation Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording including weekly data loggers Medical equipment and vaccine ordering, stocking control and rotation Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and
