Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic band 5 Assistant Psychologist to join our team to support the delivery of neuropsychological rehabilitation within the Cambridgeshire Integrated Stroke Early Supported Discharge (ESD) and Community Neuro Rehab Service. You will be working across a range of settings, including seeing patients in their own homes, at outpatient clinics and an inpatient rehabilitation centre at Brookfields Hospital in Cambridge. This post involves community working and as such there will an expectation to travel. This post will be based in the South of the county with your base being either Brookfields Hospital or Hinchingbrooke Hospital however there may be times where you are expected to cover further across the county. This is 12-month fixed term contract, 0.8 FTE (4 days a week). Main duties of the job To support the delivery of neuropsychological care to stroke & other brain injury survivors experiencing cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties as a result of their injury. This role is part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) comprised of a team of Clinical Psychologists specialising in Neuropsychology, Neuro Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Rehabilitation Assistants, Nurses and other healthcare staff. The role involves providing neuropsychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist. You will have opportunities to work closely with other multidisciplinary teams in the community, primary care, the acute neuro rehab team, and other external agencies. Staff personal and professional development is viewed as highly important, and staff have the opportunity to receive training through an in-house in-service training programme as well as being supported to undertake a blended competency package to help you develop within your profession and role. An intensive Trust and Local induction will be provided.The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptable to support service delivery across the organisation. The post holder must have access to a personal car for independent travel across the work locality. The successful candidate will work in an agile manner using virtual consultation to manage their caseload of patients, having access to a smart phone and laptop to support this.
