About the service Skills Plus is a psychosocial skill-building intervention for Care Experienced Young People (CEYP) aged between 14 and 24. We provide a therapeutic informed intervention through DBT and CBT methodology to improve the emotional and social well-being of our service users. Although this role is based in Swansea, you will be working across Western Bay. How you'll help to create brighter futures Helping young people transition into happy and healthy adults Mentoring hard to reach care experienced young people to develop life skills, friendships, improve wellbeing, confidence, self-esteem and feelings of belonging Working in a holistic and person-centred way using DBT and CBT skills Liaising with organisations and agencies such as Health, Education, Youth Service and Social Services Responsible for managing your own complex caseload Let's talk about you Our job description for the Young Person's Practitioner outlines the requirements of the role but the ‘must-haves' are: Significant experience of working with children and young people through 1:1, mentoring and group work (delivered in person and via MS Teams) An understanding of the issues that can affect care experienced young people An NVQ Level 3 in Social Care or demonstrable experience of working with children and young people An awareness or knowledge of therapeutic interventions such as DBT and CBT Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.
