Are you an experienced and dedicated nurse with a passion for epilepsy care?
We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Epilepsy Nurse to join our dynamic team at NELFT. As a Band 7 Specialist Epilepsy Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing advanced, patient-centred care to individuals living with epilepsy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver expert clinical care and support for patients with epilepsy, including comprehensive assessments and individualized care plans.
* Educate patients, families, and healthcare professionals on epilepsy management, including seizure recognition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and coordinate care effectively.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols, guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Provide leadership and support to junior staff and participate in service development projects.
Job Responsibilities
* Registered Nurse (RN) with current NMC registration.
* Degree in Nursing or relevant healthcare field; post-graduate qualification in epilepsy or neurology nursing is highly desirable.
* Extensive experience in epilepsy care, including advanced clinical skills and knowledge.
* Proven ability to educate and train patients, families, and healthcare staff.
* Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Post graduate qualification in epilepsy or neurology nursing
Experience
* Recent or present working experience of caring for those with epilepsy and other related neurological conditions.
* Experience in leading and managing a clinical team is an advantage.
Skills
* Advanced knowledge of epilepsy, including seizure types, treatments, and management strategies.
Other
* To be able to travel efficiently throughout the area

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year (plus 5% HCAS) pro rata
