1. To work as an independent, JAG accredited, Advanced Clinical Endoscopist undertaking endoscopy procedures with an awareness of the associated responsibilities 2. Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and be accountable for own actions 3. Act on professional judgement about when to seek help, demonstrating critical reflection on own practice, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and openness to change 4. Demonstrate knowledge of GI disorders through analysing and interpreting the care needs of patients with gastrointestinal symptoms. 5. Provide professional leadership and accountability by personal example to ensure the delivery of a high quality, patient centred service across Endoscopy 6. Assess medical and psychological suitability of patients who are referred for endoscopic investigations to include social, physical and emotional factors. 7. Perform advanced and specialised clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of Endoscopy patients to enhance the patient/carer experience. 8. Decide on the best course of treatment from the visual assessment of the Gastrointestinal (GI) tract and whether to take biopsies/ perform therapeutic procedures such as polypectomy. 9. Exercise professional judgement to manage risk appropriately 10. To demonstrate performance within the parameters of the National KPIs for each accredited endoscopy modality, maintaining clinical competence and credibility
