Job description The successful role holder will be responsible for contract management and improvement of the current and future Digital and Data contracts throughout the Commercial Cycle: Pre-procurement planning and market engagement. Procurement and benefit realisation working with the Digital Services & Technology Commercial team Contract Management and business improvement. The role holder will also be responsible for the management of Digital and Data Supplier relationships and will contribute to determining the contractual model for future delivery of the service. This will be achieved by managing the output and will be a key stakeholder in Digital and Data providing expertise of contract and commercial matters. The role holder will build expertise in the team to enhance current and future contract outcomes and deliver positive and enabling management of the Digital and Data Contract management team through current contract and the transition, mobilisation and go live of new contract(s). As a member of the Corporate Senior Leaders group the role holder will have responsibility for associated corporate activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Work with the senior leaders of Digital and Data to deliver the policy aspirations of Digital and Data Contribute to the early consideration and testing of all commercial options. Contribute to a procurement strategy that delivers fit for purpose commercial arrangements that deliver the required business outcomes. Delivery to time, cost, and quality agreed at award throughout contract life. Maintenance of contractual delivery through a high level of interaction with other areas of the business and with stakeholders/customers Work with key stakeholders to ensure their business strategies take account of market developments and support them in the exit or transition of existing contracts. Person specification To succeed in this role, you have experience of managing a portfolio of multi-vendor contracts ranging from large multi-million-pound contracts to small specialist contracts. You have a proven track record of negotiation with suppliers at a senior level. You can demonstrate extensive experience in a commercial management role and have strong leadership skills to guide and motivate a team effectively. If not already held, the successful candidate will be expected to work towards the Cabinet Office Contract Management Capability Programme Expert Level when in post. Additional Information This role can be based in Birmingham, Bristol, Chadderton, Leeds, Newcastle, Nottingham or Swansea, your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. This role is suitable for hybrid working, and therefore a combination of workplace and home-based working can be accommodated subject to business requirements. Hybrid working is a non-contractual arrangement where employees have the flexibility to work remotely combined with a minimum of 60% of their working time a month at either their principal workplace (one of the locations cited in the advert) or, when required for business reasons, to carry out separate duties at alternative working locations or DVSA sites. There may be occasions where you are required to attend above the minimum expectation.
