The Registered Nurse:
•Provides nursing care to emergency patients, both by working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
•Enhances quality of life for the patient and family; consults, confers, and collaborates with other health care providers
•Demonstrates continuous improvement and evidence based practice in nursing practice
•Maintains and advances own clinical competence
•Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned
This is a CASUAL OPPORTUNITY. Casual means hours are not guaranteed and may vary and shifts may be at short notice. Casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent and temporary positions. Shifts of work will be scheduled days, evenings and nights; rotating from 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, 10:00 to 22:00 hours.

KLH Kootenay Lake Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital offering services including surgical, inpatient and emergency. It is a small rural hospital in Nelson, which has 36 acute beds and operating room. The Emergency room see approximately 12,000 visits/year. Located on the shores of beautiful Kootenay Lake and surrounded by the Selkirk Mountains is the picturesque community of Nelson.
