The Company: We are working with a long-established Regional Contractor who have an excellent reputation for completing projects safely, to budget, on time and to a high standard. They are capable of taking on construction projects valued up to and above £10 Million for a varied client base which are almost exclusively based in the North West of England. They are privately owned, profitable and are active in a number of market sectors. They have a small number of clients who provide them with the majority of their work load, new clients also come to them due to their well-earned reputation. The staff turnover is very low as their team enjoy working here, are well trained and rewarded for their work. Their office is based in an out-of-town centre location and they have ample parking so avoids congestion and car parking charges Their aim is not to be the cheapest, they resource jobs properly with the right staff, Health and Safety is a key focus and material and plant are of a high standard. The Role: This role is to replace their current Estimating Director who will be retiring once his replacement is in post and a suitable hand over has been completed. The role sits in a small but highly successful Pre-Construction team working alongside the company directors and overseeing the work of more junior Estimating staff. There is the potential for someone to become a Director with Shares in the business. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful team to help and guide their work-winning. They are open to new ways of working and ideas so you will get the opportunity to shape what they do in pre-construction. You will be tasked with estimating from first principles, putting together persuasive bids for construction projects. You’ll get to meet clients and their representatives to understand their requirements and to help you to produce appropriate tenders. You: They would like to recruit an Managing Estimator who has experience of pricing construction projects from first principles. This would be a really good role for someone who is currently working for a contractor where they are part of a large team and have limited chance to influence the business or have any scope to progress. As this is a hands-on role where you will still be responsible for pricing the higher profile and key tenders they are open to speaking with Estimators currently seeking to evolve and ready to take on a new role/challenge. You will be IT literate and have good communication skills. You will need to be able to commute to their offices so will likely live in the North West of England.
