Health and Safety Assistant
Thetford
Salary up to £35,000 per annum

In this role you will continuously develop Health, Safety and Environment best practice, ensuring the Company complies with current HSE legislation, approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to employment and service provision.
The role will offer training in the areas of COMAH compliance and other related legislation. Ideal for those wishing to progress their HSE career.
Role & Accountabilities:
1. Support the completion of safety reports and other competent authority submissions and to monitor any changes.
2. Support DSEAR regulations and ensure that the site is compliant at all times with the current legislation and regulations.
3. Understand, learn and implement COMAH and SERVESO regulations.
4. Support COMAH upper tier compliance across the site. Training will be provided.
5. Undertake and review risk assessments, safe systems of work and COSHH assessments as required.
Skills and Experience:
6. Motivated, reliable and results-oriented with a positive, can do approach.
7. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance and takes responsibility for their role and is accountable for their actions.
8. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with staff and senior management alike.
9. Good communicator, able to explain complex legislation to a wide audience.
10. Previous experience in a COMAH registered manufacturing site would be preferred BUT is not essential. Training will be provided.
Role Specific Skills:
11. NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
12. A minimum of 3 years proven Health & Safety experience.
13. Excellent understanding of all relevant Health & Safety law and associated regulations.
14. Experience of auditing systems and processes and assessing audit actions.
15. The ability to handle responsibility and keep calm under pressure.
