Policy Officer
ASA are working with a large-scale public sector client who is seeking a dedicated Policy Officer to handle complex complaints, support regulatory compliance, and provide high-quality stakeholder engagement. This role requires strong investigative and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Case Management: Handle inquiries, record calls, and maintain organised case files.
* Legal Research: Conduct research on relative legislation and prepare case summaries.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with clients, verify information, and provide clear regulatory guidance.
* Process Improvement: Develop desk aids, action plans, and support service delivery enhancements.
* Meeting Coordination: Assist with meeting preparations, note-taking, and material distribution.
* Cross-Team Support: Provide support to the Adjudicator and Head of Office as required.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* BPSS Security Clearance (MUST be currently held).
* Proven experience in regulatory, legislative, or case management environments.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging internal and external stakeholders.
* Attention to detail with strong investigative and analytical capabilities.
* Confident in handling calls and inquiries in a regulatory setting.
* Ability to work flexibly, prioritise tasks, and manage competing deadlines.
Desirable:
* Experience in the public sector or knowledge of Scottish Government processes.
* Familiarity with case management systems.
Additional information
* Location: Hybrid – Saughton House, Edinburgh (onsite 1 day per week)
* Contract Duration: April 2025 – July 2025 (potential 3-month extension)
* Rate: £141.55 PAYE
* Hours: Monday – Thursday, 9 AM – 5:30 PM (32 hours per week)
* IR35 Status: Inside IR35
