About therole
You’ll be asubject matter expert for civil engineering across Drax Hydro sites, providingtechnical support, delivering key projects and managing civil asset maintenance.
This role will involve assisting the CivilTeam in setting the standard for civil engineering good practise for thegeneration business, ensuring that all statutory requirements are complied withand an effective standard is set for civil engineering governance.
You’ll ensure that civil inspectionactivities are carried out in accordance with the relevant standard so thatcivil assets are effectively managed.
You’ll also support delivery of civil engineeringprojects of all sizes from decommissioning, development and constructionthrough to station maintenance and refurbishment.
Stakeholder management will be key,as you’ll be working closely with Engineers and Managers from across our Hydro sitesand the wider business. You’ll also be responsible for supervising contractorsand reviewing designs supplied by consultants.
Who we’relooking for
You’ll need tohave a strong background in Civil Engineering, accompanied by a relevant Degreeor HND/ HNC qualification. Ideally, you’ll also hold or be working towardsChartered Engineer status.
Good workingknowledge and understanding of civil engineering industry standards andlegislation (BS EN standards, Eurocodes, CIRIA guidance; DMRB etc) is required.
You’ll have highlydeveloped communications and negotiation skills with the ability to formeffective working relationships and persuade others to help them solveproblems.
