Are you an experienced Drainage Engineer looking for an opportunity to work on impactful projects that enhance flood resilience and environmental quality?
We are seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer to lead the design, management, and implementation of sustainable drainage solutions (SuDS) across urban development projects. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile schemes, delivering innovative water management solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design, implementation, and management of drainage systems for various infrastructure projects.
2. Develop sustainable solutions for managing surface water, incorporating SuDS elements such as attenuation ponds, swales, permeable pavements, and green roofs.
3. Conduct hydraulic and hydrological modeling to assess drainage needs and determine the best SuDS strategies.
4. Provide expert technical advice to clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
5. Review and assess existing drainage infrastructure, conducting surveys to identify issues and recommend improvements.
6. Prepare detailed designs, flood assessments, reports, and technical documentation in line with industry standards (e.g., DMRB, CIRIA SuDS Manual).
7. Support planning applications and contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) related to water management.
About You:
1. Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
2. Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it (preferred).
3. Proven experience in designing and delivering SuDS and surface water drainage projects.
4. Strong knowledge of drainage modeling tools (e.g., MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, ICM).
5. Familiarity with relevant legislation, such as the Flood and Water Management Act and SuDS Manual.
6. Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
