BETH are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Nurse to join the clinical team and work alongside the current Lead Nurse. The successful candidate will be a strong leader, passionate about education, and committed to improving the quality of nursing practice. Training hubs have been rolled out across the country to meet the educational needs of the multi-disciplinary Primary Care team and support the development of our current and future workforce. Training hubs are tasked with not only ensuring the delivery of quality education, training and support for our existing workforce but also supporting workforce planning (including recruitment, retention and return of all staff groups) and are an essential vehicle of workforce transformation. As part of this remit, training hubs are tasked with supporting the training of our future workforce and facilitating the development of new and emerging roles. Training hubs aim to bring together NHS organisations, community providers, local authorities and education providers to deliver a broader education platform than the more traditional single approach. Every Primary Care Network (PCN) will have access to training hub resources.
Main duties of the job
1. To work with BETH lead nurse colleague to support the provision of GPN placements for students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
2. To lead or support initiatives to establish new roles within primary care and support the development of the nursing workforce;
3. To support co-ordination, commissioning and quality management of the education and training provision in the local system including CPD;
4. To ensure equitable access to education and training;
5. To work closely with the training hub clinical directors and wider south east London workforce development team and ensure multiprofessional education and development opportunities are optimised;
6. To provide leadership and support to the Bromley PCN nurse facilitators and Bromley development nurse facilitators.
7. To maintain own clinical practice;
8. To assist with training where necessary;
9. To support the running of locality based nurse forums.

The SEL Workforce Development Hub is the training hub for South East London working collaboratively with the six borough hubs to provide training, education and other support to Primary Care. We support over 200 practices and 36 PCNs.

Job responsibilities
Relationships
1. Establish strong relationships and two-way communication channels with nursing colleagues across all PCNs;
2. Work as part of the Training Hub team to develop and sustain strong professional and interprofessional networks supporting learning, and development for all primary care staff;
3. Work in partnership with the Hub management and clinical leadership team to support the workforce in their personal and professional development;
4. Work with nursing and quality leads to support protected learning time to meet the needs of patient care, workforce and organisations;

1. Support clinical education placements for undergraduate and postgraduate students;
2. Provide support for education and training to the pre-professional workforce, ensuring mechanisms are in place for mentoring and supervision whilst learning;
3. Promote high quality learning environments within the local area, including where appropriate, multi-professional learning across all clinical disciplines;
4. Share good practice across the professions in relation to the development of the clinical learning environment, assessment of learners and the development of flexible learning solutions such as e-learning;

4. To ensure that people understand the value of learning in the workplace;
5. To ensure that support staff competencies are assessed and that they are not asked to work beyond those competencies unless supervised;
6. To support managers and mentors in using mechanisms that are in place to identify underperforming students and support staff and that appropriate actions are taken;
7. To ensure that careers support is available.

Person Specification
Experience
* Strong knowledge of clinical guidelines, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to effectively mentor, teach, and inspire others in a clinical training environment.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant healthcare technology.
* A minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or teaching capacity.
* Experience in nursing education, training, or clinical mentoring.
Skills & attributes
