The Role: As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of paper hygiene products, we are continuously striving to innovate and improve, as such Sofidel UK are currently recruiting for a brand new role of Mechanical Engineer to be based at our site in Rothley, Leicester. This position will sit within an established engineering team that thrives on continuous development of knowledge and practical application. Working Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week, the successful candidate will have a keen ambitious to learn, develop and be hands on with the machines. This role is suited to someone wanting to grow and develop in their engineering career in a manufacturing setting. Main Responsibilities:
Assist in breakdowns including troubleshooting; problem solving; and preventative maintenance
Carry out preventative maintenance under the supervision of an experienced engineer
Ensure equipment and operating procedures are correct
Oversee mechanical devices while in operation to understand components
Carry out routine testing on mechanical devices where necessary
Work with the team to assemble mechanical components
Opportunity to cover shifts (12 hours) as and when required to enhance earnings and knowledge
Work on AutoCad for the design and implementation of components
Ensure a high level of housekeeping in the workshop and shop floor Additional Skills/Requirements:
Mechanical/hands on engineering background
Level 3 Apprenticeship trained or degree
Experience with mechanical components including motors, bearings etc.
Experience of working in a manufacturing setting would be advantageous Package/benefits:
