Your responsibilities and tasks:
This role can be based anywhere in the UK and there is substantial travel involved across the UK.
1. Supervise all direct labour and coordinate the activities of all the trades and disciplines involved on the site so that operations are performed efficiently and in accordance with the construction programme and the quality and cost standards required by the Company.
2. Ensure that all work is kept on programme and that details as specified in the drawings and instructions are adhered to. Precision and accuracy is vital in this connection.
3. Achieve targets related to cost control in connection with the use of plant, labour and materials and provide feedback as necessary.
4. In conjunction with the Contracts/Project Manager, coordinate and control the sub-contractors on the site, provide appropriate information concerning additional requirements and handle any problems which may arise.
5. Ensure Health and Safety requirements are adhered to at all times in accordance with laid down company procedures as well as the provisions of Health and Safety legislation. This will include the maintenance of the Health and Safety Folder and ensuring work is carried out in accordance with prepared Risk Assessments and method statements. Ensure appropriate completion of accident records and adequate provision of First Aid Cover.
6. Ensure projects run to schedule and to budget, managing programmes of work, and finding solutions to problems that may cause delays, such as the late arrival of materials.
7. Play a major role in pre-site and on-site meetings with a range of professionals who work to ensure a building contract is successful, including quantity surveyors, contract administrators, site foremen, subcontractors, and the client who has commissioned the work.
8. Maintain strict quality control procedures - this necessitates regular testing of materials, visual inspections of work, and frequent tours of the site.
9. Conduct regular site safety checks.
10. Liaise with/report progress to clients and the company.
Your profile and qualifications:
We are looking for someone with an Engineering background and that has experience working in food production facilities.
