Crest Nicholson's Special Project division are now looking for a Technical Coordinator to join their Team.
As a Technical Coordinator you will assist the Technical Manager / Senior Technical Manager in their delivery of building safety assessments.
Key elements of the role to include:
To assist the Technical Manager in the preparation of:
* Design information packages to aid for the fire engineer’s assessments
* To review investigation proposals
* To appoint investigation contractors and liaise with the building managers to facilitate pre-start meetings and access to the buildings.
* To review fire engineer’s and contractors fee proposals against agreed framework rates, negotiate and appoint.
* To meet with the consultants on a regular basis to discuss the progress and requirements of each project.
* To review the progress of the assessments assigned and report against the agreed programme.
* When required to visit buildings during the investigations.
* To raise purchase orders when required.
Where requested to assist in the supervision and administration of the Company Technical function particularly by:
* Ensuring the proper management of the sections workload including the supervision of, administration support staff, external Consultants, all as approved by the Technical Manager.
* The maintenance and administration of the Company’s Electronic filing system and printing operations.
* Maintaining Fees and Services budgets for the department and ensuring that latest estimates are produced for financial forecasting. Ensuring all technical work is carried out within the approved budgets and report variances to the Technical Manager.
To assist and be responsible for other duties associated with the above, being:
* Maintaining satisfactory working relationships with Local Authority, Responsible entities, Consultants
* Assisting as required in general public relations and promotion of the good name of the Company with external bodies.
* Assisting in general Company technical design matters including involvement in the production of standard Company drawings as, from time to time, may be directed by the Special Projects Technical Director.
* Representing the Company as required by attending meetings where building investigations or technical issues are to be discussed.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Engineering Technical experience, either from an Architectural Consultancy or Developer background
* Previous experience within the House Building or Construction sector
* Degree educated in relevant disciplines, such as Architecture, Design, Planning, Civil Engineering or the Built Environment
* Excellent attention to detail
* Experience in dealing with highly complex technical drawings and plans
* Experience in medium & high rise buildings
* Experience in tendering design packs
* Able to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external partners
* Building Regulations knowledge
* Strong IT skills
