This role is based in the UK and will be working on site in our UK based College.
In order to comply with our mandatory pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be required to provide original identification documents in person to our UK based People Services Department.
This role is pro rata so the salary you will be receiving is £17,684.17 per annum.
This role involves work both at a work site and at the college campus with the following schedule: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at the worksite, and Wednesday at Leamington campus. The hours are 08.30-16.00.

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position as you will be working within 'Regulated Activity' within a specific place (i.e. the College).

BACKGROUND TO THE POST
Warwickshire College are looking to appoint an experienced practitioner to help provide high quality and effective job coaching, enabling students with SEN to be successful in their work placements as part of an internship programme.
The person would work with the Head of Supported Learning and the team to meet the needs of Supported Interns that are recruited as part of a programme offer in Supported Learning.
The post holder will be required to work with the teams and to ensure that the Intern is supported both in college and at their work placements.
The person appointed will support the interns, manage their day to day work placements, seek out new opportunities in conjunction with the work experience coordinator, support the intern at college one day per week, with delivery and assessment of the employability enable them to apply for any associated supporting finance such as Access to Work through the DWP and assist with application, interview and future employment opportunities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Develop effective job caching and employment plans
● Teach and assess the employability qualification.
● Communicate with students to understand their goals and ambitions
● Assist students to discover and overcome their personal barriers and set goals
● Assess the strengths of students and teach them to use them effectively
● Assess the aptitudes, aspirations and potential of students and consider these against potential opportunities around the host company
● Network with internal teams within the host company, to influence key stakeholders and negotiate terms and timing for tailored student placements.
● Produce detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for specific tasks students will undertake in a work placement.
● Guide students in learning to complete job tasks
● Help in the development of motivation and skills
● Provide pastoral care for young people with special educational needs and disabilities to enable them to achieve the aims of the internship.
● Promote self-determination and ownership in students towards finding paid employment on completion of the internship.
● Work with young people with differing capabilities and needs within the same peer group
● Provide coaching in effective job search techniques
● Assist people with disabilities in developing social and life skills
● Advise on workplace accommodations for people with disabilities
● Monitor and evaluate progress of students
● Keep records and documentation and prepare appropriate reports
● Participate in required Job Coach training
In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

Essential Attainments:
✓GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or Level 2 equivalent qualification
✓Willingness to acquire appropriate qualifications in Training in Systematic Instruction (TSI)
✓Working knowledge of information technology such as e-mail, the internet, MS Office and other software applications.
✓Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
✓Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
✓To have a good understanding of supported internships – who they are aimed at, how they work and the expected outcomes.
✓To be a trained Job Coach or be willing to acquire appropriate qualifications in Training in Systematic Instruction (TSI).
✓Experience working in a commercial environment
✓Experience of working/teaching/supporting young people.
